Bangert spent nine months in Iraq on assignment for the New York Times and his work from that period is published in two books. Other photos by him have appeared in Stern, Time, Newsweek, The New York Times Magazine and GEO -to name but a few.

German born Christoph Bangert initially studied photography in Germany and later at the International Center of Photography, New York, from where he graduated in 2003. He has worked in many parts of the world including - Palestine, Darfur, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Nigeria, Zimbabwe and Iraq.
Bangert has exhibited in Germany, New York and at the Musee de L'Elysee in Switzerland where he was selected as one of 50 emerging photographers for an exhibit and book titled "Regeneration".
In this week’s Inspired Minds Christoph Bangert talks to Breandáin O’Shea about the influence of digital technology on today’s photography, the moral dilemma he often faces as a photographer in emergency situations and his adventures working in South America and through-out the African continent.
