About DW-RADIO

Find out more about DW-RADIO's English language service.

DW-RADIO is one of the three media offered by Deutsche Welle, Germany's international broadcaster; DW-WORLD and DW-TV complete the picture. Marco Vollmar is the head of the combined German/English Service. Within the Radio English Service, Rina Goldenberg leads the News and Current Affairs department, and Dr. Irene Quaile is the head of the Feature and Magazine programming team.

DW-RADIO's focus

DW-RADIO prides itself on accuracy, reliability and credibility. With studios in Washington, Moscow and Brussels, as well as a network of independent correspondents in most of the world’s major cities, DW-RADIO looks at international events from a European and German perspective.

Programming

DW-RADIO’s English Service broadcasts to all corners of the globe, 24 hours a day. The English language broadcasts begin each hour with a five-minute live world news bulletin. Our current affairs program Newslink then takes you to the half hour with reports on the top European and international stories.

Specialist magazine programs fill the second half of the hour. The 30-minute feature programs present weekly updates on music and the arts, business, sustainable development, the environment, science and technology, and dialogue between the world’s cultures and religions

Where can I listen to DW-RADIO?

DW-RADIO broadcasts to all five continents via satellite. Reception of DW-RADIO is also possible in digital format, as well as the conventional short-wave. Live streaming of radio programming is available via the DW-WORLD website. In addition, programs are available on demand on the Internet in the Real Format, as well as in Windows Media and MP3.
