Researchers are getting closer to a driver-less car.  With cameras, radar and laser sensors--such as Volkswagen's research car--"Caroline" such a vehicle can "see" its way around.  In the "Urban Challenge" at the former George Air Force Base in California--the robots put their ability to the test.  The standard passenger vehicles were stuffed with electronics to be able to negotiate their way through traffic in a normal American small town--but at high speeds.
